Nutritional program for soccer players/athletes

Special nutrition program
Intensity Training for soccer athletes
Introduction
Intensity training can allow player such as soccer athletes to play longer in the field and not get tired easily when playing for a longer period of time. Due to the prolonged and vigorous nature of the sport, carbohydrates are soccer players main fuels. Soccer players also need protein and fats so that. Good carbohydrate sources include bagels, cereals, beans, rice, pasta, bread, pretzels, fruit, juice, potatoes, beans, whole-wheat bread and tortillas. This program focuses on eating carbohydrates food.
Why do intensity training?
The body stores carbohydrates in the muscles as glycogen, but these stores are limited and need to be constantly replenished. Small meals and snacks throughout the day can help keep energy levels high. Glycogen depletion can lead to fatigue, both physical and mental, and performance maybe compromised as players lose fuel they need to think and make good decisions on the field. This nutrition program is to conserve muscle glycogen and prevent fatigue, have a carbohydrate sports drink before and during practice sessions and game.
Intensity training instructions:

About 4 hours before a match, eat a meal that includes plenty of easily digestible, carbohydrate-rich foods. Avoid fried foods and foods with fatty sauces because fats are slowly digested. If you tend to be nervous before a match, consider an easy-to-digest liquid meal such as a nutrition shake that contains 60% of its calories as carbohydrate. 30% of it should be protein and only 10% should be fats.

About 2 hours before a training session or match, drink about 500-600 ml (16-20 oz) of a carbohydrate-electrolyte sports drink that contains 5-7% carbohydrate. This will provide some last-minute carbohydrate and body fluids insurance

During stoppages for injuries and penalties and during half-time, drink as much of a carbohydrate-electrolyte sports beverage as you can comfortably consume.

As soon as possible after a match or hard training session, start consuming carbohydrate-rich foods and beverages to rapidly begin replacing glycogen stores. Energy drinks that contain 18-20% carbohydrate (18-20 g/100 ml or 43-48 g/8 oz) can be a good source of easily digested carbs. A little protein is good, but don’t go overboard. Aim to consume plenty of carbohydrates (8-10 g/kg) in the 24 hours following strenuous play.

Benefits:

1.     Eating carbs benefits you after intense strength exercise by replacing muscle glycogen and spiking insulin to switch the body back to an anabolic state. You need carbohydrates for intense training. So when soccer players are at a match. They won’t be tired to run around the field and also carbohydrates provide energy and also carbohydrates will allow your muscles to be strong and to delay muscle fatigue. So when players are playing on the field, their muscles will be fit and this can make soccer players shoot harder because their muscles are fueled.

2.     Carbohydrates make the glucose not entering at a fast rate to the bloodstream. Having too much sugar in the blood for long periods of time can cause serious health problems if it's not treated. Hyperglycemia can damage the vessels that supply blood to vital organs, which can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke, kidney disease, vision problems, and nerve problems in people with diabetes. These problems don't usually show up in kids or teens with diabetes who have had the disease for only a few years. However, these health problems can occur in adulthood in some people with diabetes, particularly if they haven't managed or controlled their diabetes properly. This will make players
 Limitations:

1.     Carbohydrates can cause weight gain. Because carbohydrates are sugar, their primary role in the body is to fuel muscle tissue by filling it with glycogen. In physically active individuals, these glycogen reserves are used for fuel, yet in sedentary individuals, carbohydrates often go unused. This excess energy is then deposited as body fat. Carbohydrates are converted into glycogen, which is stored in the liver and in muscles; but as the body can store only a limited amount of glycogen in this way, all other excess glucose is stored as body fat. This is the process of putting on weight. Causing weight gain can make soccer players not agile anymore, because their body is weightful and our body is heavy.

2. Carbohydrates, in particular simple carbohydrates, raise insulin levels in the body by increasing blood-sugar levels. High insulin levels can, over time, lead to insulin resistance in which the body does not create enough insulin to match the high blood-sugar levels. Insulin resistance in turn leads to diabetes. Diets high in refined carbohydrates and processed foods have been closely linked with insulin resistance.

SPECIAL NUTRITION TRAINING/PROGRAM

FARTLEK TRAINING

Fartlek requires the circulatory and respiratory systems to supply energy to the working muscles in order to support sustained physical activity.
When most people talk about endurance they are referring to aerobic endurance, which is often equated with cardiovascular fitness. Aerobic means "with oxygen" and during aerobic exercise the body uses oxygen to help supply the energy needed for exercise. When the inhalation of oxygen began(Inspiration), we do gas exchange with the carbon dioxide(expiration) and this occurs in the alveoli. The oxygenated blood will go through all parts of body and the deoxygenated blood will return to the heart and and get oxygen. And later the production of ATP will happen in the mitochondria and be used for this exercise with is for the muscles too and for the heart to allow soccer athletes to run faster (fartlek= speed play)

Instructions to do the fartlek training program
Setup:
1.     Start with 4 cones set along a sideline about 10 yards apart
2.     The player on one of the far cones start with the ball
Instructions:
1.     Player 1 passes into player 2 who returns the ball back to player 1.
2.     Player 1 then passes to player 3 who returns the pass to player 2
3.     Player 2 then passes to player 4 who returns the pass to player 3
4.     Player 3 then passes back to player 4 who passes to player 2
5.     The pattern is repeated as the players move in straight line down the field
6.     Instruct the players to keep the same distance as much as possible when moving down field.
7.     When a groups reach the other side of the field have them wait until all groups have completed.
8.     Have the players repeat this pattern going to the other side of the field.
9.     Repeat 5 times to allow the players to warm-up and get into rhythm.
Do this exercise every 4 times a week to improve maximum performance on athletes playing style on the field.

This combination passing training is designed to work on combination play while advancing up the field. This will help soccer athletes focus on timing of passes, runs, combination play, and will be a great passing training. This training can be related to fartlek training because, This training in which the pace is varied from a fast sprint to slow jogging, because when we do this exercise we run to get the ball and when we get the ball we dribble slowly (that is called fartlek training: speed play). This special program improves cardiorespiratory system, because when we do this exercise walking and running strengthen your cardiovascular system, improve circulation, and increase your lung capacity. Your muscles require more oxygen while you run and your lungs will use more of their capacity to meet your body's need. Your heart and arteries will also get a workout pumping all that blood around your body. Running has also been proven to lower the risk of heart attack and decrease blood pressure. This exercise requires running and when we pass, our feet.

Benefits of this Training relating to science:
1. This exercise can improve the cardiorespiratory of soccer athletes. And if soccer athletes improve their cardio respiratory system, in a real match they can have stronger heart, if they have stronger heart their production of oxygen can be more and production of glucose and atp will increase making soccer players endurance increased and they can play longer in real match without being tired.

2. If you exercise aerobically, fartlek training can provide an effective change of pace for your routine. Fartlek training is a form of interval training that allows you to vary the length of your intervals, depending on how you feel. It is an efficient form of training that can condition you for many sports. You can run faster because oxygen is supplied more.

Limitations
1. Intervals are tough on your body. If performed too often they increase the risk of overtraining. Overtraining is uncomfortable and a set back and so it's important to prevent it by allowing time for recover and growth between sessions. This can cause: occasional increase in resting heart rate, loss of strength speed, endurance, or other elements of performance, and chronic colds or respiratory infections. Fartlek training is a very tiring program because athletes need to run fast, and yet control their stability of slowing down when they need to, because or else their diaphragm muscles could cramps. If you are not properly trained, increasingly your pace then lowering it back down can create cramps. Be sure to breath in through your nose and out through you mouth. This should prevent cramps from occurring.

2.   It can be hard to monitor it is very hard to monitor improvements and progressions due to its random nature. This is why interval training is generally preferred, because for example, when it is not monitored well for athletes doing this training, then the organ systems may get hurt or soreness and the tendons for muscle will may like cause often cramps or soreness.

Introduction of Soccer and a little introduction about sports in science

We are now learning biology in the science subject and we are currently learning the about the different types of systems in our whole human body such as: Respiratory system, digestive system, muscular system, circulatory system, nervous system and lots more. Science can be related to many things when it comes to sport, for example, the training for each type of sports can be connected to the type of cellular respiration, diffusion in alveoli of internal respiration, or even the drugs and nutrition consumed for a healthy athlete's body as it can improve the performance of athlete. With knowing science, you can improve your performance in sport as well as not easily getting injured when training or participating a sport competition.

Soccer as an example, is a sport that provides broad-spectred health and fitness effects that are at least as pronounced as for running, and in some cases even better. Throughout the course of a 90-minute game, a typical soccer player (the goalie being the exception here) may cover 4 to 5 miles. Of course, not the entire duration of the game is spent at full throttle. You'll walk, jog, sprint and backpedal to achieve this distance. The point is, you are moving constantly.

Factors Affecting the Performance of a Basketball Athlete

Economical and Social Factors

Training Program #1, #2, #3

Economical Factors:
For this type of training program, weight training and physical training and defensive training can make your muscles located in your whole body (from head to toe) stronger and in basketball, it is a huge advantage to be able to shoot far and if you show your excellent performance in the competition, you would get more sponsors and therefore, receive a suitable amount of money that can help your athletic career.

Social Factors:
If basketball coaches can see your performance, you would be hired into a basketball team and you're able to make new friends and know your team mates. You can also receive the media attention and socially know more people.

Nutrition Program #1, #2

Economical Factors:
This nutrition program needs a huge amount of different types of food for each meal, 3 times a day. Purchasing these ingredients or materials for your diet would waste an amount of money because proteins and carbohydrates cost a lot of money. However, this diet is really useful and worth it.

Social Factors:
By doing all these nutrition programs, you would get a fit and healthy body to begin with and when you join sports club or country clubs, they would want to recruit you as a member and by then, you would have more friends, more club members and more people that knows you.

Uses Of Drugs

Economical Factors:
Drugs are easy to get and the prices are all at range, however, there are many drug dealers that sells fake drugs and fake drugs causes more severe side effects but cost cheaper than real ones. Instead of buying cheap and fake drugs, it would be better to buy a more expensive drug, for the same purpose, but the side effects are less severe and more trustable.

Social Factors:
This is a bad social factor even though it spreads news easily. When you buy a drug from a certain person, that person would suggest you to buy other drugs that have a different purpose from another person and maybe that other person would give the same advice and therefore, you would be known among drug dealers and that is how you gain more friends and socially, know about what is going on in the drug dealer business.
